Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly update! This month, as usual, we have been working tirelessly to improve the lived experience of the refugee community in Hong Kong.
About Us
Our centre was founded in 2014 by a group of refugees in Hong Kong. We have been dedicated to safeguarding refugee rights and improving their well-being and lived experience.
Activities at a Glance
This month, we thank the volunteers for organising a book club for refugee kids every Saturday. The kids had a lot of fun listening to the stories and fairy tales. They can’t wait to hear more new stories.
We are equally thankful to a group of young people who visited our centre and arranged a series of educational and leisure activities for the refugee kids during their summer holiday. In the most recent session, the kids were introduced to the key elements of theatre: improvisation, role-play, and concentration. These skills are essential for building confidence and creativity in the arts.
We also received a wide range of useful item donations. We would like to express our gratitude to those who have lent a helping hand. Your support means a lot to us. We welcome large donations which are allocated to distribute to many refugee families who do not receive sufficient government assistance.
