Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly update! As usual, this month we have been working tirelessly to better the living conditions of refugees in Hong Kong.

About Us

Founded in 2014 by refugees in Hong Kong, the Refugee Union has been dedicated to safeguarding refugee rights and improving their well-being and prospects.

Activities at a Glance

On 2 April, a group of students from Hong Kong Shue Yan University organised a paper folding class for both adults and children in our community. Everyone enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon.

On 6 April, students from the Canadian International School of Hong Kong visited and taught children how to cook Hong Kong cart noodles. It was an innovative idea that all the children thoroughly enjoyed.

On 9 April, students from Hong Kong Shue Yan University organised a Cantonese class for our adult members. They covered essential communication skills needed for interacting with landlords when renting a flat and with drivers when using public transport. We are grateful for this useful information.

On 11 and 25 April, students from the Chinese International School organised outdoor sports games for our children. The children had a great time!

On 12 April, two students from Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong interviewed some of our members to gain insights into the situation of refugees in Hong Kong.

On 13 April, Maria Kim from Discovery Bay International School organised a drawing class for children. She taught them how to draw portraits in a cartoon style. Thank you!

This month, we received a wide range of useful item donations. We would like to express our gratitude to those who have lent a helping hand. Your support means a lot to us. We ensure all items received are distributed to refugees.
