Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly roundup!
The Refugee Union was founded in 2014 by a group of refugees in Hong Kong. We are a union of refugees dedicated to empowering the refugee community by safeguarding their rights and improving their wellbeing.
Activities at a Glance
This month, we hosted a series of meaningful activities at our centre. For example, on 23 August, volunteers from Hong Kong Equal Wellness Outreach (HKEWO) visited our centre and organised a health check-up and consultation session for our members.

On 30 August, GearLabs, a dedicated non-profit organisation led by Derrick Wong, Prakhar Mishra, Marco Lee, and Sam Ng from the German Swiss International School, collaborated with us to deliver an engaging engineering workshop, utilising their state-of-the-art STEM kits to construct objects using complex gear mechanisms.

We also thank the volunteers who came to our centre to provide homework support and outdoor activities for our children during the summer holiday. We would like to thank HER Fund for supporting our members’ transportation costs, enabling them to travel to the centre to attend classes.

We sincerely thank all our volunteers for their dedication.
This month, we also gratefully received a wide range of useful donated items. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has lent a helping hand. Your support means a lot to us. We continue to welcome donations, which are distributed to many refugee families who do not receive sufficient government assistance.
