Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly roundup!

The Refugee Union was founded in 2014 by a group of asylum seekers in Hong Kong. We are a union of asylum seekers dedicated to empowering the refugee community by safeguarding their rights and improving their wellbeing.

Activities at a Glance

Kung Hay Fat Choi!

As we approach the Lunar New Year, we would like to thank all the volunteers who are joining us to celebrate this festive season with our members. Activities such as writing blessing words with us on red paper (fai chun) have been truly meaningful. Wishing you all happiness, good health, and success in the Year of the Snake!

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to our interns, Carmen and Lok Yan, who will be joining us from January to April as part of their work placement. Both are sociology students at Hong Kong Shue Yan University and we look forward to working with them.

This month, we received a wide range of useful item donations. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has lent a helping hand. Your support means so much to us. We continue to welcome large donations, which are distributed to many refugee families who do not receive sufficient government assistance.
