September Roundup

Post Date: Sep 30th, 2024 | Categories: Monthly Roundup | COMMENT

Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly update! This month we have been working as usual to empower the refugee community in Hong Kong.

About Us

Our centre was founded in 2014 by a group of refugees and asylum seekers in Hong Kong. We are dedicated to empowering the refugee community by safeguarding their rights and improving their wellbeing.

Activities at a Glance

On 7 September, we were delighted to welcome members of Open Doors, students from the Hong Kong International School, who visited our centre to teach refugee children Mathematics and English. These classes are important for refugee children who cannot afford private tutorials.

On 13 September, Sam Ng, Rainier Mandel, and Tommy De Jong, students from the German Swiss International School, came to our centre and organised a series of science lessons and experiments. The kids learned a lot and had great fun.

This month, we received a wide range of useful item donations. We would like to express our gratitude to those who have lent a helping hand. Your support means a lot to us. We welcome large donations which are allocated to distribute to many refugee families who do not receive sufficient government assistance.
