Season’s Greetings from Refugee Union!

Welcome to the Refugee Union’s monthly roundup! We are excited to share our latest updates and developments as we continue advocating for the rights and well-being of refugees in Hong Kong. This edition highlights key events from the past month, including our advocacy work, community outreach, and fundraising efforts. We hope this roundup offers a comprehensive overview of our work and inspires you to join our mission to create a more just and equitable society for all.

About Us

The Refugee Union is a community-based organisation, established in 2014 by refugees in Hong Kong. Our mission is to promote and protect the rights of refugees through advocacy, education, and community building. We work to empower refugees to become self-sufficient and active participants in their communities, while also advocating for policy changes that support their rights and well-being. Our organisation is run by refugees, for refugees, and we are dedicated to creating a more just and equitable society for all.

Activities at a Glance

On 2 December, we extended our heartfelt thanks to the amazing staff at Central & Stanley Wellness who graciously opened their doors to our members for much-needed chiropractic care.

On 5 December, we were honoured to welcome our friends from St John’s Cathedral. They visited us to share prayers for our members’ health and happiness during this festive season. We are also grateful for their generous donations.

On 7 December, we were thrilled to welcome students from Chinese International School who accompanied our children for joyous outdoor activities at Victoria Park.

On 16 December, we expressed our gratitude to the dedicated student, Maria, from Discovery Bay International School for arranging creative art classes for our children.

Giving is a Blessing

In the spirit of Christmas giving, we received a wide range of useful item donations this month. Our heartfelt thanks go out to those who have extended a helping hand. Your support is invaluable to us, and we ensure all items received are thoughtfully distributed to refugees in need.

Please continue to support our centre and stay connected. Keep an eye on our website and follow us on our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter) for the latest information. You are also welcome to contact us by email at info@refugeeunion.org or visit our centre during office hours (Mondays to Saturdays, 10 am to 6 pm).

Wishing you all the warmth and joy of the season, and we look forward to your continued support in the New Year!
